Tunde Bariz

Person-Centred Counsellor & yoga therapist based in Richmond, Sw London/Surrey & Online

Choosing a counsellor can feel like a big step, one that takes courage, hope, and trust. It’s important to find someone who not only understands the difficulties you’re facing but offers a space where you can truly be yourself, without judgement.

About me

I'm Tunde Bariz, a qualified counsellor and yoga therapist based in Richmond, offering counselling for adults and young people aged 14 and over. My practice is rooted in a deep belief that every person has the capacity to heal and grow and that with the right support, you can reconnect with your inner strengths and navigate life’s challenges with greater ease.

Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in education, spending many years as a teacher and I still work as a school counsellor in a grammar school. This experience has given me invaluable insight into the pressures faced by young people, parents, and adults alike, especially around life transitions, identity, and emotional wellbeing. Alongside my professional life, being a parent myself has deepened my understanding of the complexities of family life, change, and personal growth.

In my counselling work, I offer a calm, confidential space where you can explore whatever is on your mind, whether that's stress, anxiety, low mood, relationship issues, life transitions, or simply a sense of feeling stuck. My approach is person-centred at heart, but I draw upon a range of approaches to suit your unique needs and experiences. I also offer yoga therapy separately for clients who seek support with stress and anxiety through a body-based approach.

At the core of everything I do is the belief that the resources you need are already within you. Together, we work at your pace, in a way that feels natural and supportive, helping you to unfold the resilience, clarity, and self-acceptance that can sometimes feel out of reach.
